his retirement from ski racing in 1981, Andy has worked as a ski
racing commentator with ESPN, NBC, ABC, and CBS. He has a syndicated
show in major ski areas in the U.S. entitled Ski with Andy
Mill, which he hosts, writes and produces. He served on the
boards of the Aspen Educational Foundation, the U.S. Olympic Educational
Ski Foundation for the U.S. Ski Team, the Aspen Winterclub Foundation,
and the National Atlantic Salmon Fishing Federation.
his ski racing career, Andy Mill found another passion; tarpon
fishing. A lifelong fisherman, he brought a similar level of dedication
and perfection to his fishing. Although he admittedly struggled
for quite a few years, he eventually mastered the art of tarpon
fishing and went on to become only the second angler to win 5
Gold Cup Tarpon tournaments and be a Triple Crown winner in tarpon
fishing (Gold Cup, Hawley, and Golden Fly). Andy also hosted an
outdoor show on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN). He has fished
for a number of fish including marlin, sailfish, bonefish, and
is recognized as one of our sport’s top educators whether
it be casting, guiding, fly tying or traveling. Jon has fished
for many species of fish and his quests have carried him around
the world. He has authored countless articles in many of our sports
magazines. He teaches a fly fishing school which he founded in
the mid 70’s which is likely the longest running class in
the south and one of the longest in the country. Whether pursuing
local quarries like bass, shad, redfish or spotted seatrout or
such gamesters as bonefish, permit or golden dorado Jon has done
it. He has published a number of books including the travel centered
book "Fly-fishing Odyssey"and
the recently published "Performance Fly Casting"
; which is a guide to casting that is spot on and very well illustrated
by Joe Mahler.
He has received numerous awards over the years including the prestigious
Federation of Fly Fisher’s Silver King award which goes
to those who have help promote and advance salt water fly fishing.
Some prior recipients include Lefty, Lou Tabory, and Nick Curcione,
all presenters at our club. Through all of this Jon's hat size
has remained the same and he is one of the friendliest, down to
earth, approachable and willing to share person you will meet.

Lambert of Atlantic Beach, Florida, a Master Casting Instructor,
