Florida Council of the International Federation
of Fly Fishers is dedicated to all fly fishers in the state of Florida.
We are an arm of the International Federation of Fly Fishers, the only organization
devoted solely to the sport of fly fishing. The goal of the Federation is
promote fly fishing as the most enjoyable method of catching fish and the
method that is most compatible with maintaining the resource. We practice
conservation, education and restoration of the environment for all fish
in all waters. The Federation is also the voice of fly fishers with government
agencies and other organizations of like minded people.
The Florida Council is
a individual membership organization that is enhanced by local fly
fishing clubs. The clubs bring the resources of the Federation to
the grass roots level. The members bring their talents in fly fishing
education, conservation and restoration to the Federation and it's
members. Our goal is to provide the latest
on issues that affect fly fishers, provide access to the latest techniques
in fly fishing, fly casting and fly tying. Constant communication
through council and club web-sites and newsletters inform our members
of the many programs available to them. Special events such as council
conclaves, casting clinics and fly tying workshops are held for the
education and enjoyment of fly fishers. Local club meetings often
offer access to great speakers and programs.
those focused on the environment, there are conservation programs in which
you can participate. In Florida, we promote the IFFF's Mangrove Restoration
program and other programs. Many of our programs are partnerships with
other organizations and fish & wildlife agencies. We vigorously defend
the Clean Water Act.
