FLY TYING EVENT - JANUARY 30, 2016 (SATURDAY)

The Upper Midwest Council along with the Pine to Prairie Club is offering a fly tying workshop.  Paul Beckmann, an IFFF member and on the Fly Tying Board of Governors will teach the tying of the Puglisi "Peanut Butter" fly, a foundation fly for the varieties of Puglisi flies.  The cost is $15.00 and will be held at the:  Back room of the Lakes Cafe at 136 West Main Street, Perham, MN.  The event starts with a social hour from 9 to 10am and the workshop from 10 to noon.

Casting Certification Seminar

The Upper Midwest Council is offering a Casting Certification Seminar July 21 -23, 2016 at the Rochester Community & Technical College, 851 30th Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904.  The CCI seminar will be designed to help the individual prepare for taking the CCI examination.  Instructors for the seminar will be Dave Barron, MCI and Keith Richard, MCI who are also on the IFFF Casting Board of Governors.  Accommodations have bee arranged at the Comfort Suites, 4141 Maine Avenue SE, Rochester, MN 55904 at the rate of $87.00 without tax.  Rooms are all two double beds so can be shared.  Let me know if you would like to share a room.  The seminar is open to the first 10 people to register and the registration fee is $250.00.  The seminar is all day July 21 and 22, and until noon on the 23rd.  Participants are encouraged to arrive on Wednesday night.

FLY FISHING SCHOOL 

The Upper Midwest Council will hold the 2nd annual Fly Fishing School on July 22 - 24, 2016 in the Rochester, Minnesota area.  The Fly Fishing School is open to IFFF members as well as to the general public.  Registration fees for the general public will include a membership to the IFFF.  The school will offer classes in fly tying and casting for the beginner as well as those with more experience.  The Rochester is close to the Driftless area renown for miles of trout rivers and streams.  The fly fishing school will be held at the Rochester Community & Technical College, 851 30th Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904.  Accommodations have been arranged at the Comfort Suites at 4141 Maine Ave SE, Rochester MN 55904 at a rate of $87.00 per night.

Registration Fees IFFF member   Individual   $90.00       Couple or Parent/Youth $170.00 (Youth - ages 15-18)
Non IFFF member Individual  $125.00 Couple or Parent/Youth  $225.00  (non member fee includes IFFF membership)

Registration fees cover all classes for the weekend and the lunch on Saturday.  Not covered by the registration fee is the Banquet meal on Saturday evening and motel accommodations.  The non IFFF member fee also includes a $35.00 individual membership to the International Federation of Fly Fishers for one year.

Weather Policy:  Please bring appropriate clothing for anticipated weather.  Severe weather - casting classes will be held in the field house.
Cancellation Policy:  Refunds will be provided if notified two weeks prior to the Fly Fishing School.
