Fly Tying Group Rendezvous

Join members of the FTG as they host their Rendezvous which includes a meal consisting of a BBQ meal with all the trimmings.  This is a time for renewing friendships with fellow fly tiers as well as a chance to make some new tying friends.  Other activities include a fly exchange, silent auctions, special tying contests, a chance to use the Evergreen Hand, bucket raffles and a special contest to get your "Mystery Materials".  If you want to participate in the Fly Switch you need to bring a set of your flies (hopefully a dozen) to contribute.  Participants will be chosen at random to choose their choice of flies from the collection.  Advanced reservations are required and space is limited so get your tickets when Fair registration opens!

International Fly Fishing Film Festival

As Oregon fly-fisher Frank Moore worked his way inland from a Normandy Beach, he saw salmon holding against the current in streams running to the sea.  Moore wanted to cast a fly over the fish.  But it was June, 1944 and he was busy invading France.

Some 69 years later, Moore returned to Normandy, fly rod in hand and camera crew following, in an attempt to catch salmon where once men marched and tanks rumbled.

The resulting film, “Mending the Line,” will be shown Tuesday August 5th as the feature presentation of the 2014 International Fly Fishing Film Festival at the Dulcie Theater at the Shane Center. Theater doors open at 7:00 with the films screening at 7:30.

The International Fly Fishing Film Festival consists of two hours of short and feature length films produced by filmmakers from around the world showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of the sport. Films range in subject matter from trout in the Rocky Mountains to chasing steelhead from Northern California to Canada.

  • Time: Doors open at 7 p.m., film starts at 7:30 p.m.
