IFFF and Council News

Greenlee Attends Heritage Days at Pennsylvania Museum 
Saturday June 20th found fly fisherman converging on Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs, PA over the weekend to celebrate the Commonwealth’s deep fly fishing heritage at the Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum’s 13th Annual Heritage Day. Phil Greenlee president of The International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) Ken Tidy President of Chesapeake Council, International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF), Dianne Tidy, Certified Casting Instructor presented the check to Tom Hoffmaster, President of the Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum.  The donation will support the construction of the Cathy & Barry Beck booth at the museum.
 
Florida Clubs Supports PHWFF
The Bradenton Yacht Club hosted the third annual PHWFF event on May 16, 2015 which provided some 30 veterans a day of fly fishing on the water.  Florida captains, guides and boat owners provided boats for the.  Area wide chapters of PHWFF and members of the near IFFF clubs (Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers, Suncoast Fly Fishers, and the Tampa Bay Fly Fishing Club) provided volunteers in each boat.

Regional EDP Events Continue to Attract
EDP members in the Northeast attended a one-day EDP event in Freeport, Maine on July 10th.   Rod McGarry organized the event which  the North Eastern Council sponsored. The EDP faculty, Jim Valle and Macauley Lord presented the CI Examiner’s Training workshop in facilities made available by L. L. Bean.   Read more>>

Fly Fishing Legend Attends the Fair
Joan Wulff will attend the Fair this year and provide fair-goers a special treat on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.  She will give a casting demonstration at Pine Nursery Park.  She'll also take questions, even challenges, during her hour-long presentation.  Don't miss the opportunity to see this fly fishing great in action.  

Host Families Available for International Visitors
Any international visitor attending the Fair may seek a host family to accommodate them during their stay.  Anyone interested should contact IFFF Board Member Kuni Masuda or local coordinator Marv Yoshinaka.

Iron Fly Returns
The Iron Fly, is a live fly tying contest. Tying a fly in 8 minutes sounds simple, right? Not knowing the type of fly could be a bit of an issue.  If you're up for the challenge please to participate and if you are up for a good laugh come watch the tiers.  Read the rules and learn the scheule>>

All Welcome at the Fly Tying Rendezvous!
The FLY SWITCH is one of the highlights of the Fly Tying Group Rendezvous. This an annual event on the Tuesday of the International Fly Fishing Fair which is scheduled this year on August 11. The festivities include auctions, raffles, food and camaraderie. Tickets are $35.00 and only available through pre-registration.  Bring a dozen flies and enjoy the fun!  Register Now!

England Fly Fishing Trip of a Lifetime Now on Ebay, will be offered at the Fair Auction

Charles Jardine, a Life member and great supporter of the IFFF, has donated a trip of a lifetime to the Federation.  The trip includes 3-day guided fishing trip to the Broadlands, lunch at the historic Savile Club/London Flyfishers Club and fishing on the River Test.  Click here to view item and bid!  This trip will be sold at the Fair auction, so don't miss out on this opportunity.
