I moved to Oregon in June of 1970. I finally got a teaching job in August of 1972. Shortly after that with a fellow teachers help I started fly fishing. Within a year I took my first of many fly tying class from Randy Kauffman. I moved to St. Helens Oregon in 1997 to be a teacher and track coach at the High School. It was not long after the move to St. Helens I met Lee Clark of the Clark Stone Fly Fame. Within a year or so Lee invited me to tie at some one day shows in the Portland area that he had the responsibility to arrange for tiers. After I retired from teaching in December of 2009 I wanted to get more involved with the Federation of Fly Fishers.
